The inventor of the balloon that may have carried away his 6-year-old son on a fast-paced ride across Northern Colorado, is a weather chaser and amateur scientist. Richard Heene built the experimental aircraft, shaped like a flying saucer and his son Falcon may have climbed inside. It lost its tether to the ground and took off. The craft landed softly after being in the air for three hours, but his son was not on board.
