The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's National Wildlife Property Repository sits in the middle of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 10 miles from downtown Denver, and houses seized wildlife related properties that are in violation of the U.S. Endangered Species Act or smuggled illegally into the country..Ivory, seized in Los Angeles in 2001, is held at the repository and pictured here June 2, 2009..The items being auctioned, all legal to sell, have been carefully selected from the more than 1.5 million wildlife parts and products stored at the Repository.  .The sales does not include any products made from threatened and endangered species, migratory birds, eagles, marine mammals, species listed on Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), or species that cannot be sold or traded under the laws of the exporting country.  No hunting trophies or wildlife parts will be sold.
